20V RWD Cooling System Kits

20V rear wheel drive installs are becoming increasingly common, however to do so the conversion of the cooling system needs to be addressed. The parts here do this without modification to the engine and are known to work. Each of these parts have sub-sections for more information on them.

History:

Some of these cooling system parts where the first items sold by this company. A more crude version of the main cooling parts shown on this page where installed on the company AE86 back in 2005, they have continued in their use without fail since then, in that time they where used on and off the racetrack, without a fan and all in the less than friendly conditions. It's from this original conversion and the knowledge that followed that these parts here where developed.

These kits offered are the slimmest and cheapest on the market, they are also the best supported and are the only business to offered customised solutions.

Various Options & Parts Selection:

As shown by the long cooling guide on this site there are many different options available for converting a 20V engine and so forth there are different parts to allow for different options. These kits shown below have been proven known to work option under all conditions without any less function or power drops- this is guaranteed. The install should take about 30 minutes including removing the original parts without any special tools and assistance can be provided should the need arise.

Custom options:

The cooling kits below cover most conversions however custom options are available, examples of such are different sensor threads or countersunk bolts in the bypass plate, orders of only some of the parts, etc..

20V COOLING KIT TYPE-1

Added with heater option:

Uses the original 20V half water pump front and back halves, pulleys, alternator and belts. So no changes to any mounting brackets or water pump to make this kit work.

The good: When installed this is the single neatest and simplest kit available on the market anywhere. This is easy to fit and work on. Uses a Stant branded (USA made) thermostat
featuring an internal water bleed for an internal bypass system. Outlet comes pre-assembled ready to be bolted straight onto the head. When wanted the heater is easy to connect.

The bad: During fitment the alternator tensioner will need a small relief ground out of it (see pics). Also the original top hose from a 4age 16V upgrade can't be used although a replacement is available below for only $20 extra.

Rear Bypass: With sensor threads and a choice of left or right hand heater outlet (depends on car)
Side Block off plate: with countersunk holes and bolts to suit
Therm-outlet: A pre assembled outlet assembly that includes a housing, USA made thermostat, gasket, bolts and a new water neck
Inline adapter (for use with heater only): 32mm water adapter that fits anywhere in the bottom radiator hose for the heater core connection
T50 spacer plate (for use with heater only): A spacer that tilts the engine more forwards to allow extra clearance for heater hoses.

Suggested extras: Pre-modified top hose that suit the water in this kit to the original ae86 4age radiator. These are just $20 each new.

Added with heater option

The good: Most cost effective kit available anywhere as well as being easy to fit and work on. Made not suit a common Corolla external thermostat (not normally supplied). Outlet comes pre-assembled ready to be bolted straight onto the head. When wanted the heater is easy to connect. Has easy connection for bypass pipe.

The bad: Does not suit the original radiator hoses, will require more hoses in the engine bay as well as room for the external thermostat.

	Slimline Dizzy blanking covers: Designed to be the best, these distributor blanking covers used in 20V RWD conversions are the slimmest available and feature an OEM style fitment.
	Custom made clutch lines to suit AE's, KE's & RA's (CL-01): This is a clear coated stainless steel braided clutch line with a Banjo fitting on the end for the clutch slave and a normal fitting on the other. This gets around the problem of extractors fouling/burning the original rubber line with any 4age conversion. These lines are guaranteed to clear all extractor models and last for years to come. They feature a high temperature resistant coating, full ADR compliance and a set of colored aluminum anodised ends.
	20V Coil-pack/COP Adapter plates (CP-01): This adapter plate bolts directly to an unmodified 20V black or silvertop's cam cover. It then allows two potential types of on-plug coils off later model Toyota engines to be bolted down neatly and securely.
	Custom Coilpacks/COP's to suit 20V engines: Coils sourced from the Toyota Yaris that have been modified to fit down the spark plug tubes of the 20V engine. Each supplied with a plug and enough lead for easy connection.
	A Series Spigot Bearings: A high quality Japanese made spigot bearings, a necessity for any FWD to RWD conversion on 4AGE engine and 7A engines.
	Inline Adapters (IN-01): These adapters allow for 5/8" water inlet/outlet wherever needed in a 32mm (1-1/4") hose. Straight and 90 degree fittings are available.
	Pump outlets/block-offs (PB-01): Used as part of the rear wheel drive conversion of the 4AGE 20V engines cooling system. Used with a RWD block mounted thermostat housing and for the purpose of either having an outlet for a heater or as a block-off flange for without.
